About Reskinned
Reskinned is a circular fashion brand and platform focused on repair, resale, and product life extension. Working with established fashion brands, it offers scalable solutions that combine sustainability with commercially viable business models. During my placement with reskinned we worked as a team to pitch a rebranding and add an Off-Cut sector to their business model that uses fabric scraps typically discarded during production to create a new product line for their brand

Overconsumption. We grow out of clothes, change our styles or give into micro trends, as our wardrobes get bigger our wallets and the environment suffer.
Impulse Buying.
Due to choice overload we buy more clothes than they need, leading to massive textile waste and short garment lifecycles.
Material Waste. The fashion industry generates around 92 million tonnes of textile waste globally every year.
High Cost. Young consumers want variety but can’t afford constant new purchases, especially with rising living costs..
Project Brief
Reskinned's objective for us was to
extend the material's life-cycle by keeping them in circulation and
out of landfill. The narratives were to help them reimagine new possibilities for fashion and textiles and to develop a proposal which disrupts or extends the lifecycle of your chosen material. After developing our idea, we presented our idea as a live brief pitch to the Reskinned team.

Project Outcome
Our proposal was to use off cut, the smallest but integral components of the system, to reimagine existing garments. Instead of repairing garments to their original state, imperfections would become visible. Based on Wabi-Sabi, the Japanese philosophy of embracing imperfection, the garments would display traces of use with visible seams and patchwork. Off-Cut would transform scraps into bundles for creative projects.
